Ek Villain Returns, a psychological action criminal thriller directed by Mohit Suri, debuted in theatres yesterday to excellent reviews from both audiences and critics. The movie, which stars Arjun Kapoor, Tara Sutaria, John Abraham, and Disha Patani in lead parts, got off to a respectable start, earning about Rs 6.75 crore net on Day 1, according to Box Office India. The report claimed that while the movie did poorly at the more expensive multiplexes, it did well in the other multiplexes.
Both the music and the content of the movie are universally appealing, which is fantastic news for the Hindi cinema industry this week. The best circuits for “Ek Villain Returns” were UP, Gujarat, Bihar, and Nizam/Andhra. Lesser revenues were reported for other mass circuits like Rajasthan and CI. Due to the lower ticket prices, attendance was about comparable to “Jugjugg Jeeyo.” It will now be interesting to see how the movie does throughout the weekend.
On the day of the movie’s release, Arjun Kapoor said on Instagram as a tribute to his role as Gautam, “Some characters are carved into an actors’ trajectory. One such character is, and always will be, Gautam. He assisted me in bringing out facets of my personality that I had not yet recognised. When portrayed in a story like Ek Villain Returns, the character exudes the appropriate and pertinent emotions, insanity, and vigour. I’m really appreciative that I got the chance to play this part. ‘Ek Villain Returns’ debuts today. All of Gautam is now yours.
