King Charles and President Droupadi Murmu meet before the funeral for the queen

President Droupadi Murmu visited King Charles III at a banquet hosted at Buckingham Palace on Sunday before Queen Elizabeth’s formal burial.

At the Lancaster House near Buckingham Palace in London, President Murmu also signed the condolence book for Queen Elizabeth II. Rashtrapati Bhawan announced that President Droupadi Murmu had “signed the Condolence Book in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Lancaster House, London.”

In addition, the president paid respects to Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Hall in London, where her casket is lying in state.
In order to attend the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday and express condolences on behalf

of the Government of India, the President will be travelling on official business to the United Kingdom from September 17 to September 19.
She arrived in London at Gatwick Airport on Saturday in order to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey.

At 20:50 IST, Murmu and her entourage, which included Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, arrived at London’s Gatwick Airport from the hotel she had just left on her way to the hotel where she will be staying during this tour.

The president was greeted by the Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom as she arrived at the airport.

She’ll be there at the state funeral at Westminster Abbey’s West Gate. She will also attend James Cleverly, the UK’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairsreception ,’s in the afternoon.

On September 8, Queen Elizabeth II, 96, who served as the Commonwealth of Nations’ and the United Kingdom’s head of state, passed away. On September 19, she will be buried at Westminster Abbey with full military honours.

In honour of UK monarch Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on September 8, a day of state mourning was held on September 11 throughout India.
