In connection with a 200 crore extortion case connected to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing began interviewing actor Jacqueline Fernandez this morning.
Around 11.30 am, Jacqueline Fernandez appeared at the Mandir Marg location of the Economic Offenses Wing in Delhi.
According to officials, the actor will be asked a plethora of questions by the Delhi police about her alleged relationship with Sukesh and the gifts she allegedly received from him.
The EOW also asked Pinky Irani, who is said to have introduced Sukesh to the actor, to join the probe today. According to sources, Ms. Fernandez and Ms. Irani may be questioned head-on to get further information about the case.
Officials advised Ms. Fernandez to schedule her stay in the national capital in accordance with the possibility that she would continue over the ensuing few days.
Jacqueline Fernandez was designated an accused last month by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is looking into the money trail in the extortion case against the conman for 200 crore.
Sukesh was allegedly married and involved in criminal cases, but Ms. Fernandez chose to ignore this information and engaged in financial dealings with him, according to the investigation agency.
The chargesheet claims that in February 2021, “Jacqueline Fernandez was completely aware of the criminal past of Sukesh Chandrashekhar and also the knowledge that Leena Maria Paul is his wife.”
