Russian President Vladimir Putin assured Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a visa-free travel agreement during the SCO annual conference on Friday.On the eve of the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in this Silk Road city in Uzbekistan, Modi and Putin spoke earlier today.
Putin added, as reported by Russia’s official news agency TASS, “we recommend speeding the process of negotiations towards an agreement on visa-free tourist travel,” noting that Russians have a great interest in India’s rich history and ancient culture.
After Russian troops launched a “special military operation” against the neighbouring nation in February, Modi praised Putin for helping to evacuate hundreds of Indian students from Ukraine during the meetings, noting that Moscow and New Delhi have been working together for many years.
